Dave Watson Painter

Dave trained as a Photographer in the early eighties. (See Berwick photography gallery). Privately with Fay Godwin, then at Derby University with John Blakemore and with Ray Moore as his visiting lecturer. Karen Knorr, and the current head of Photography at the Royal College of Art - Olivier Richon, spent time at Derby and shared their cutting-edge ideas on photography.
Dave still photographs Kirill Sokolov's paintings after 35 years, considering the task to be both a favour to his old friend and as a time to study at first-hand an artist of international standing.
He now much prefers the freedom of painting.
Memory and consideration move his brush more than the reality of the scene.
